However, bar is essentially a driving/operational parameter and cannot be directly equated to the final acoustic output peak pressure or EFD.
EFD is energy flux density, i.e., energy output per unit area, typically used as a sales parameter for focused shockwave therapy. Its final value needs to be determined based on the measured peak pressure, pulse frequency, focal depth data, and the specific measurement method.
Bar and EFD represent different physical parameters. Bar is a pressure indicator, while EFD represents acoustic energy per unit area; they cannot be directly converted.
How to adjust the focusing depth of a focused shockwave therapy device?
Focused shockwave therapy comes in three types: electromagnetic, piezoelectric, and electrohydraulic.
